You'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you've helped your students develop essential skills to learn and thrive in the 21st century. This is also a great opportunity to expand your résumé, expand your leadership, attend conferences, and be part of a network of fantastic educators, while also spreading the word about the great work you're doing with digital citizenship with Common Sense Education. FOR PARENTS
Scholars online behavior at school does affect home life, and behavior outside of school also impacts the learning environment. Parents have questions and anxiety about their child's media use and look to school for help.
- Give them the website address to Common Sense Media so they can explore themselves.
- Provide this link - Family Toolbox.
- Provide these Tip Sheets.
- Introduce them to the page I have created for them called JMA Technology Information for Parents & Scholars.
If you are using Brainpop, it has a nice collection of videos on Digital Ciitzenship. You could incorporate these as well into any lesson.
COMMON SENSE MEDIA - Curriculum - Scope & Sequence - A complete collection of all topics available on Digital Citizenship.
