Every scholar at JMA will have access to a Chromebook in the classroom. A specific Chromebook will be assigned to every scholar in the classroom by you in each block. He/she will be responsible for its care. CAUTION: Access to JMA’s owned technology is a privilege, not a right. At any point during the school year, access to this device and/or the internet can be revoked.
CHROMEBOOK DISTRIBUTION
To get your CB cart, 100% of your Technology forms (2) must be returned by your HOMEROOM class. Those forms are to be turned in to Tracy Casorso in the media center in your Technology folder.

NEW CHROMEBOOK PROCEDURES
PROCEDURES
- A Chromebook cart will be assigned to each HOMEROOM teacher.
- Chromebooks will be NUMBERED in the cart. Numbers 1-30.
- Using a class roster or some other teacher-created form, all Homeroom teachers will assign a specific Chromebook # to each scholar in EACH BLOCK for use throughout the year. Each scholar is to use the same # Chromebook each day.
- Teachers are to keep track of which Chromebook is assigned to whom. This sheet will help you keep determine easily who is causing damage to your Chromebooks.
CHROMEBOOK REMINDERS
- Are you checking your cart every day to make sure that all Chromebooks are accounted for? Especially when scholars leave the classroom during your block. All Chromebooks MUST be accounted for each day.
- Make sure your cart is LOCKED every day.
- Issues with a Chromebook? Be sure to troubleshoot the issue yourself and/or use another scholar in the classroom who may know how to solve the problem. If that doesn't work, send the scholar down with the Chromebook to explain the issue to Ms. Day. A replacement Chromebook will be given if needed.
- Are you adhering to the Chromebook Distribution procedure of no more than 3-4 scholars (1 scholar per block) assigned to a Chromebook? This procedure seems to be working so far for JMA this year. Minimal damaged Chromebooks being turned in.
- Chromebook Violations by a Scholar: If a scholar is not using a Chromebook responsibly, please write them up as you would any other violation. Assign a consequence to him/her whether it be After School detention, removal of the use of a Chromebook for a period of time, phone call home, etc. Scholars must be held accountable for the improper use of a Chromebook.
